Cause and effect
We are all used with the linear thinking that everything that happens is an effect of something else, of some cause. Most often though that cause is also an effect of yet something else which could be called as its cause, and so on. Thus we often end up in an infinite web of causes and effects which can discourage even the bravest to truly finding the “real cause” of something. In the improvement theory, it is said that once we go at least 5 levels deep with the question “why”, we are close to the root cause of a process. But those are relatively simple linear processes and issues. When we talk about complex human endeavours or issues, how deep should we go ? And when we have an apparent horizontal choice between several possible paths of causes, like the dilemma between nature and nurture, how do we incorporate all of them ? This has been an ongoing conundrum for millennia, only made worse by the modern world.
Most often we are preoccupied by those questions because something is not right and we are trying to fix it. It has been said in scriptures that are thousands of years old that the web of causes and effects is an inherent product of the “illusionary” character of the world that hides its essence. And the essence behind it all is the All-pervading Power that guides everything and everyone forward on the evolutionary path. Thus the logical conclusion is that flowing with that power means we transcend the cause and effect cycle - we raise above perceivable causes so their effects that touched us in some way “simply” cease. This is why the great spiritual beings that have walked the Earth appeared both untouched and unconcerned by the usual linearities of causes and effects and instead how divine love creates its own reality that influences everything else.
After Self-realization we first discover how the inner mechanism provides the basis for what we used to see as cause and effect for our own person, inside and outside. By experimentation we learn and trust that mechanism and we remit to the motherly Kundalini energy its nourishment, oversight and maintenance. Slowly we then become more aware of the All-pervading power and its nature as the “Mother of everything” as described by Lao-Tzu. As our consciousness expands, we will experience more and more the reality of that power being the ultimate essence and its intrinsic ability to control all relationships of cause and effect in the material world. After some time our doubts about us being the pure Self as well as the nature of Reality disappear and we can live truly free of any worries and fears. This process can take a little time but the state we refer to is perfectly within reach of everyone with true desire and a reasonable discipline of meditation.
