Return of innocence
We are currently starting to feel beyond doubt the consequences of our action towards the Mother Earth for the past couple of hundred years. During this time we have treated her more and more as the property of the mightiest and as just a repository of resources that we had every right on to fuel our - by and large Western - industrial growth. One could say that it was our ignorance, that we didn’t know any better and it took some time before we realized the truth. But maybe there is a deeper picture here, something to do with the absolute essence of our being, that is innocence.
Understanding Mother Earth and how we relate to her is a natural quality we all have, like all our other living companions in this world. Traditional cultures have all expressed it from times immemorial and treated Mother Earth as the source of life, to be respected and listened to. In Europe as well there were many voices along the same lines but the push for wealth, expansion and domination was too strong and our collective actions took an opposite path that slowly extended to the rest of the world. In subtle terms, we have collectively drifted farther and farther towards the right side and away from our subtle roots which are in fact connected to the left side, to our emotions and affect.
The primal powers of our first chakra are innocence and wisdom and that chakra supports the Mother energy herself. And its element is earth. Mother Earth embodies so well that innocence as she generously entertains everyone and tries to give us joy, sustenance and her great purifying powers. Her tolerance and balance are second to none. To get in tune with her and make sure that we respect the larger laws of life and harmony, we need to rediscover that innocence within us. Small children have that naturally. Left to their own devices they love to be in nature, to play with sand, water, dirt, snow, etc and they naturally respect all living things and attribute them similar thoughts to themselves.
When we reconnect with the power of innocence and go beyond our ego, which is the sum total of our right sided motivations and internal reflections of our actions, all of a sudden we look at nature and the entire Mother Earth with different eyes. And at that point we can also take real help from her to cleanse our subtle system and help our Kundalini rise with greater force, which in turn will give us a higher and deeper bliss as well as balance. When this happens to the larger number there will be no more need for arguments and debates in those matters and everyone will enjoy the great rewards of the return to innocence.
